GOOD TO KNOW
Yes. Both groups take the same Aviation English test, with a choice of Level 4 Only or an assessment covering Levels 4, 5 and 6.
Your certificate records your assessed English proficiency using the ICAO Language Proficiency Rating Scale and holistic descriptors described in ICAO Doc 9835.
Level 4 Only assesses your English against Level 4 and does not award Level 5 or 6. Levels 4–6 gives you the opportunity to demonstrate Level 4, 5 or 6. Choose the wider assessment if you want your result to reflect proficiency above Level 4. In both options, your result depends on your performance.
You still receive a certificate showing your assessed level, even if it is below Level 4. Choosing Level 4 Only or Levels 4–6 does not guarantee a Level 4 or higher result.
You’ll need a device with a working camera and microphone, a stable internet connection and access to Zoom. Choose a quiet place where you can hear clearly and speak without interruption.
